KOZHIKODE: Aseel Mohammed, a 13-year-old student, has become talk of the town after he successfully planted organic fruits and vegetable at his small yard in Kakkad, a remote village in Calicut. He produced a variety of 132 Kg vegetables from just 22 square meter area.
“Greenery, vegetable and fruits gives me peace and satisfaction” a regional daily quoted Aseel as saying.
While contacted Aseel told Gulfdailymail.com, that the authority has to open a Farm to School program in Kerala. This will help students to produce farm-fresh foods such as fruits and vegetables, eggs, honey, meat, and beans on students’ menus. “Moreover, it will help to learn the basics of greenery and farming, which is very essential these days”, he added.
“This is a test for me and I have bigger plans which I will explain when I start my next farming program”, he concluded.
